Part of the point of writing FSDSxTweak was to close the gap in what users of Gmax (who had full access to all SDK features) and users of FSDS could achieve. Well, today a second commercial product which uses FSDSxTweak by a major third-party developer has been released. And this one created by FS aircraft modelling legend Rick Piper no less! Here is the rundown of these two great products:
Alphasim SR-71 for FSX
This is an update of the FS9 model by David Bushell. Features all the trimmings: bump mapping, specularity, emissive glow in the VC at night, etc, etc, etc. Great model of an interesting (and hard to fly) airplane. More info at the Alphasim product page.
SkySim BAe Hawk T1-T1A for FSX
These screen shots are from a Beta version
A new model by Rick Piper. Multiple texture options, some models with weapon loadouts. If there is any model out there which shows that FSDS can produce as good a result as GMax, this is it. More info at the SkySim product page.
If you have created something cool with FSDSxTweak, commercial or free, please send me a screenshot! I love to see what people are doing with the tool.
This was not a sponsored post. It was inspired purely by the models’ awesomeness.
