Sometime late last weekend the temperatures dropped below freezing, and they stayed there. It was supposed to snow on Wednesday a whole lot, and we were all excited about that, but no snow. Boo. Then Thursday it came, big time.
We got about 5 inches (12.7 cm). What does that look like in practical terms? Here I am standing in it
And here is what the outdoor furniture looked like at the Starbucks
So we decided to have a look around the neighborhood.
And then we got home and made a snowman. A proper one, not like last time.
Right now (Saturday night) we are in the middle of quite a heavy snowstorm – they are expecting 8 inches (20.32 cm) overnight (around the Cascades they are expecting 3 feet). Also, the weather service asked people to stock up on 3 days of food in case the power goes out like it did in 2006. So we have done all our hunkering down. Faybs wanted us to get shotguns to protect our tins of beans, but we couldn’t find one in a colour we all agreed on.
