This morning, a Boeing B-17 was flying around Seattle. This is the plane that put Boeing on the map as an aeroplane maker in the 1940s. It flew over Europe and the Pacific, and was flown by the US and Great Britain. Thousands were built, but almost none remain in flying condition. One doesn’t often get to see a 70 year old plane flying around. And I missed it. Grrr.
It will be flying again tomorrow – I will be on the prowl to see if I can get a glimpse of it.
